Mural auction now online!

Hello friends:

The Wildlife Mural Mosaic auction has begun. I have one panel included in this mosaic (see below), and the entire mural contains 216 paintings and over 140 artists including Charity Dakin and Robert Bateman. Each panel purchased in the auction comes with a $100 limited edition print signed and numbered with the coinciding number of the panel. With every square sold, 50% of the sale goes to CPAWS (Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society).

The auction is not on e-bay as I had originally stated. You can get to the auction by clicking on this link Auction

My panel is #13

or you can go right to the mural mosaic site at www.muralmosaic.com

Also, this is your last chance to see this amazing 24 foot mural live, it is truly a sight to see. It will be on display at the Butterdome Craft Sale in the front entranceway so you don't have to pay admission. Dec.7 - 10.

Cheers
Darlene

It's a boy - I'm an auntie!

At long last he's here!

My sister gave birth by C-section today to a healthy, very strong baby boy. Here are the stats:

Weight 8 lbs 4 oz
length 21”
time 1:03pm November 24th
name: Carter Robert (after Troy’s grand father that passed away) Julius (after my dad that passed in 1997) Koyich
10 fingers and 10 toes
lots of light brown/sandy blonde hair
dark blue eyes
good grip, already grabs your finger

He was too stubborn to come out on his own, so they had to give him a little assistance. Mom is doing great but is tired, dad is still in shock. He asked us to pinch him several times in the first few hours. Is still a bit surreal for them.

Copious amounts of photos were taken, I can assure you. I think I scared the nurses with my camera gear. Once Mom and Dad have seen them we will be posting them.

Hope to see you there.

Latest family session

Wow, I haven't updated this in a while, too long!

I photographed a family last weekend. We got really lucky with the weather as it was about +3c instead of -15c like it had been. So we went outdoors and was fabulous.

Here is some of the shots we did:

They were great troopers even while getting dripped on at the gazebo.

Now - I'm STILL waiting to officially become an auntie. My sister is now 10 days overdue and is going in tomorrow to get things moving. So hopefully my next post will be baby photos!

Oh, and BTW I won a little award!

Alberta General Photographer of the Year

I got a call last Monday from Alan who was running our print competition this year. They were giving out the trophies Tuesday night in Lethbridge and he strongly suggested I should be there. So off I went and it was well worth it.

I won the trophy for Photographer of the Year in the General category. There is also Portrait and Commercial winners. I have been runner up for Portrait 3 times, Commercial once and now 5 times lucky I guess.

It was the first time this award has been given, so is kind of special that my name will be on this trophy first! I like being progressive and leading the pack.

Thanks to all that helped in the selection and naming process. More photos of awards night will follow once I get my hands on them.

New Project -horses!

Need I say anything? They are beautiful and spiritual creatures, and I've decided to focus on them for my next photography project.
